Pastors in Africa

One of our main goals is to come alongside the pastors in Africa and help them with resources, training and spiritual support. Here you will find bios of some of the pastors we work with.

Check back soon for updates on these pastors!

Finally arrived …

The Ranger III team has finally arrived back in USA. After long flights, long airport waits and delayed flights they arrived at 12:30 am this morning. As reported by former team members they were in good spirits and were very glad to be home.

Praise God for how he used Katy and Melissa on this trip to effectively share God’s Word with the people He put into their path.

Also Praise Him for all their luggage arriving with them.

Soon there will be a short report on what was accomplished this summer.

Also thanks for the prayers and support.

All is well with Ranger III

The Ranger III team is doing very well in their second week in Rwanda. They are in the midst of their second week of teaching school. This is the school that we helped finance and finish the floors of the classrooms in 2006. The school has had phenomenal growth these past two years growing from 56 to over 200.

Melissa and Katy are teaching Bible and English lessons daily. The average class is around 40 students. The headmaster of the school is Theophile who is serving as their translator. We have been told that the regular teachers are using the teaching skills that they have learned from last year’s team. So a side benefit from this mission is the teachers themselves gain insight in teaching young children the Word of God.

They girls have established three weekly small group Bible studies with women.

One of the studies is in a woman’s house in one of the poorer sections of Kigali. The group has about 10 women most whom do not have Bibles; the girls have purchased Kinyarwandan Bibles for the next meeting.

They also have possibilities in starting or least meeting with on a limited basis with some other groups. This week they are supposed to visit Kabuga to see progress with the sewing machine project we helped establish and fund occasionally. It is based out a church One27 visits and supports regularly.

The girls are getting a good daily routine and their health is good. Rest as always can be a challenge, but they seem to be fine. I know that they appreciate your prayers. Please continue to pray for them in these areas:

1. A good routine of rest.

2. More opportunities for sharing God’s word

3. Continued good health

4. No disruptions in their small group studies

5. Wisdom as they teach the small groups

Check back for more updates!

Luggage made it!

Melissa and Katy checked in via phone again this morning with Muzasa (Wayne).  They are tired but doing well.  Here is our praise and prayer list for them.

Praise – ALL 5 pieces of luggage made it through this morning (their morning)!

           – They are successfully working on teaching plans

           – After meeting with the Dorcas Project (a widow’s and orphans ministry) they are good to go for a weekly Bible Study at Dorcas!

Prayer – a meeting with Esron tomorrow to discuss the best strategy for tackling the ministry opportunities.

           -  also, the girls didn’t sleep well.  Pray for restful, restorative sleep.

They Have Arrived!

Melissa and Katy have arrived in Kigali! They are safe but very tired from the long trip. Their connecting flight in London was in fact a close call – they had to run across the terminal just to make it! Because of this their luggage didn’t not arrive in Kigali with them.

Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare for the long road ahead – and pray that their luggage will arrive soon!

For those of you who do not know where Kigali is here is a link for you to check out: Kigali, Rwanda

They are on their way ….

Ranger III left Houston this afternoon.

We need to be praying for them.  The plane left a little late from Houston and they needed to make a quick connection to London in Washington DC.  Praise the Lord they made the connection to London. They have a layover there for most of the day(Tuesday).

Melissa and Katy just before departing for Africa

They are supposed to contact me in London.  As I told them their Third teammate, Jesus, was going to watch over all those details of getting where He wanted them.

Prayer list:

Safety

Health

Making connections

Stamina – around 36 hours of planes and airports

Pilots

Luggage to all arrive safely.

Thanks for praying.
