All is well with Ranger III

The Ranger III team is doing very well in their second week in Rwanda. They are in the midst of their second week of teaching school. This is the school that we helped finance and finish the floors of the classrooms in 2006. The school has had phenomenal growth these past two years growing from 56 to over 200.

Melissa and Katy are teaching Bible and English lessons daily. The average class is around 40 students. The headmaster of the school is Theophile who is serving as their translator. We have been told that the regular teachers are using the teaching skills that they have learned from last year’s team. So a side benefit from this mission is the teachers themselves gain insight in teaching young children the Word of God.

They girls have established three weekly small group Bible studies with women.

One of the studies is in a woman’s house in one of the poorer sections of Kigali. The group has about 10 women most whom do not have Bibles; the girls have purchased Kinyarwandan Bibles for the next meeting.

They also have possibilities in starting or least meeting with on a limited basis with some other groups. This week they are supposed to visit Kabuga to see progress with the sewing machine project we helped establish and fund occasionally. It is based out a church One27 visits and supports regularly.

The girls are getting a good daily routine and their health is good. Rest as always can be a challenge, but they seem to be fine. I know that they appreciate your prayers. Please continue to pray for them in these areas:

1. A good routine of rest.

2. More opportunities for sharing God’s word

3. Continued good health

4. No disruptions in their small group studies

5. Wisdom as they teach the small groups

Amazing. Thanks for the update Wayne! It sounds like they are getting many opportunities to connect and minister while they are there!
